Life is Hard...

Life is hard. That's the good news and the bad news all in one sentence. Accepting that life is difficult means that you aren't blindsided by the challenges it brings. It is also a reminder to treat yourself with loving care Dr. Kristin Neff calls it SELF-COMPASSION. She says, "With self-compassion, we give ourselves the same kindness and care we'd give to a good friend." Treat it like an experiment and use loving and kind words to encourage yourself.

My sister reminds me and others, "Be gentle." Gentle. We don't always know how to do this for ourselves. But we can almost always access that part of us that can be kind to our most dear ones. Be gentle with your expectations and your demands for yourself. Treat yourself with care.

So treat YOU like a dear one. And watch what happens...
